With the restructuring of the literary universe of Star Wars back in 2014, there were three characters beloved by fans that many feared were never to be heard from again. Now, one of them will be making a surely triumphant return to the Star Wars saga (as official canon!) not only with an appearance in season three of Star Wars Rebels, but with his own novel due out in April of 2017:
Yep, this is not a drill! Timothy Zahn himself will be penning Grand Admiral Thrawn’s debut into the new canon. Preorders will be opening up in the next few days, so keep checking your favorite sites to reserve your copy early (I certainly will be stalking Amazon for my chance).
Now we just need the other two fan favorites, Mara Jade and Revan, to join Thrawn going forward (or backwards, in Revan’s case). Hint hint, Lucasfilm and Disney 🙂
The wait is over! The entire Phase 2 Star Wars collection from Irregular Choice is available online RIGHT NOW! We’ve been bringing you teasers of some of the designs for the past few weeks, but there are so many more that are just as epic! Take a look at just some of them:
Tickets may not go on sale until 12PM PDT (3PM EDT) tomorrow, but the kind folks over at Star Wars Celebration have posted ticket prices and information for next year’s event in Orlando, FL.
Here are the general prices:
Take note that for the Orlando show there will only be one VIP level available (unless more are added later, as things may change depending on initial ticket sales). Jedi Master VIP passes ($700) will be available at the same time as general passes, but they will certainly sell out quickly if history has taught us anything; VIP tickets for Celebration Europe were completely sold out within a few days.
Be sure to get you tickets early, and book your hotel rooms ASAP. Everything will definitely be filling up and selling out fast!

I never thought Vader’s could be pulled off in anything other than his trademark black, but I’ve got to admit…it looks pretty good in gold, too.

For the first time since 2012, the largest Star Wars-centric convention will return to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida for the 2017 event.
After last year’s success of Irregular Choice‘s incredible line of Star Wars-themed shoes, the footwear company will be launching its second line at the end of May. According to the press release this new line will include “more of your favourite characters from the original trilogy but this time pushing the boundaries with a bright and fun twist“.
The first of the four new styles will be a glitzed-up R2D2 slip-on called “Astromech”.
Check back next week for previews of the next style in the line. The entire line will be available for purchase on May 27, 2016.
All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, has announced that the last of its three Star Wars-themed aircraft will take its first flight on March 27, 2016 before venturing on to international flights. This Boeing plane will pay tribute to everyone’s favorite droid from Episode VII, the one and only BB-8!
From the official press release:
After unveiling the aircraft in a ceremony on March 27 at Osaka’s Itami Airport, where the special livery was applied, the aircraft will make a one-off domestic flight as ANA22 from Itami to Haneda, before departing the airport at five minutes past midnight on the following day (March 29) as flight ANA106 to Los Angeles, marking the start of the aircraft’s international service. The aircraft is then scheduled to fly various international routes, principally routes linking Haneda, Narita and US – Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Houston.
Not only will the jet itself be fully decked out in BB-8 livery, but:
Passengers on the BB-8â„¢ ANA JET will experience the world of Star Wars with specially-designed BB-8 paper cups and headrest covers and cabin attendants will wear BB-8 aprons.
And there’s one last awesome piece of news: if you’re in the US, you can enter ANA’s contest to win either a model of the amazing BB-8 plane (50 winners will be selected), or the grand prize of two round-trip tickets from Los Angeles to Tokyo. The contest will run through March 10, 2016 for the trip, and April 17, 2016 for the plane model; you can choose to enter just for the trip, the model, or both!
